Rhonda Illsley and her horse Fever

My name is Rhonda Lynn Illsley and I was born in 1967, a native of Washington State. I never studied art formally except for a few classes in high school and college, but have always been an artist. When I was young, I imitated my mother's artwork, and have developed my skills by drawing subjects I have been passionate about throughout the years.

The style of art I primarily use is black and white, pen and ink, using a technique called "stippling", meaning "using dots or small strokes". I use this technique in conjunction with other media such as charcoal and colored pencil.

I have always enjoyed doing artwork for friends and relatives, specifically of their beloved pets, for a number of years and have decided to offer my work to the public, wanting to broaden my horizons and make available to more people the art I enjoy doing. I hope you enjoy what I have produced!

When I'm not busy with art work, I breed, train, and show Paint and Quarter Horses on a small scale. I also occasionally offer quality horses for sale. In addition, I have trained my Rottweilers for Schutzhund (a German dog sport), and have been active in fighting breed-specific legislation.
